Quick answer

A Cronus Zen bought from cronus.shop carries a 90-day warranty against faults, extended to one year with the White Glove service or the Extended and PS5 Ultimate bundles. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason, less shipping and service fees. Units from other retailers follow that retailer's policy. Claims go through support.cronusmax.com.

What warranty comes with a Cronus Zen?

It depends where and how you bought it.

PurchaseWarranty against faults
cronus.shop, base package90 days
cronus.shop with White Glove service1 year
cronus.shop Extended bundle1 year
cronus.shop PS5 Ultimate bundle1 year
Third-party retailer (GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy and others)Retailer's policy; the official guide says "you might have a 30-day warranty"

The 90-day figure is printed in the base package's own contents list. Collective Minds' hard-reset page puts it plainly: bought directly, the warranty is between 90 days and one year depending on the package.

What is the money-back window?

cronus.shop offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason. Refunds exclude shipping and any paid services (White Glove, pre-loaded GamePack configuration). Within that window a faulty unit can be replaced or refunded at your choice, as the hard-reset page confirms. Beyond 30 days and within the warranty period, faulty units are replaced rather than refunded.

Return shipping is free within the USA for faulty items and roughly $5 otherwise. A $35 return-to-sender fee applies to packages refused or undeliverable. Returns go to Collective Minds' warehouse in Penn Laird, Virginia.

What do the bundles contain?

From the cronus.shop product page as recorded on 2 September 2026:

  • Base: Cronus Zen (CM00053-C), one 12 in USB-C cable, two 3 ft USB-C cables, one 3 ft micro-USB cable for older controllers, Quick Start Guide, 90-day warranty. $109.99.
  • Upgraded: Base plus the White Glove 13-point service (listed at $19.99 value) and a 6 ft USB-C Pro cable ($14.99 value).
  • Extended: Upgraded plus the extended one-year warranty ($29.99 value).
  • PS5 Ultimate Bundle: Base plus a Zen LINK module ($29.99), White Glove for both devices, and the one-year warranty.

Bundle totals were not verifiable in the page text at the time of writing, so we do not quote them. Check the product page. Regional distributors exist, including a UK store listing the Zen at GBP 99.99.

What is White Glove?

A paid pre-shipment service. Collective Minds updates the firmware, tests the hardware and can pre-configure the device before it ships, described as a 13-point check. Its practical value is twofold: you receive a unit already on current firmware, and the warranty becomes one year. If you are not confident with the firmware update, it removes the first hurdle.

What counts as a fault?

The official troubleshooting pages are specific about when to stop troubleshooting and claim:

  • Hard reset fails: the OLED stays blank or corrupt, the RGB LEDs do not flash, or the device refuses to reset. The hard-reset page calls this a developed fault.
  • Firmware 0.0.0 or DFU Download Failed that persists after re-running the update with a known-good cable and a powered hub.
  • Blank OLED on a known-good cable and port, per the hardware errors page.
  • Dead USB ports where a different cable and host make no difference.

What does not count: charge-only cables, an under-powered laptop port, a corrupt slot fixed by reprogramming, or a script that misbehaves. Work through factory reset and power and hubs first; support will ask whether you did.

How do I make a claim?

  1. Open a ticket at support.cronusmax.com.
  2. Include your order number (cronus.shop) or proof of purchase (retailer).
  3. Include the serial number, shown in Zen Studio's Device tab.
  4. Describe the exact OLED behaviour, what cables and hosts you tried, and whether the hard reset produced the red-green-blue LED sequence.
  5. Follow the returns instructions you receive; do not ship to the warehouse without an authorisation.

For retail purchases, start with the retailer while inside its window; it is usually faster.

What if I am out of warranty?

The hardware errors page mentions a paid Extended Warranty Service for out-of-warranty units from any retailer. Ask the helpdesk for current terms. Given the Zen's price, a repair or replacement through this route can still be worthwhile compared with buying new, but get the quote first.

Does modifying or opening the Zen void the warranty?

Collective Minds does not publish a detailed exclusions list on the pages we reviewed. Assume that physical damage, opening the case and liquid exposure are excluded, as with any electronics warranty, and that firmware updates through the official tools do not affect coverage.

A buyer's summary

  • Buying direct gets you the 30-day money-back window and at least 90 days of coverage.
  • White Glove or a bundle raises coverage to one year and delivers a tested, updated unit.
  • Retail purchases are convenient but may leave you with only the retailer's 30 days.
  • Keep the order confirmation and note the serial number on day one.

Frequently asked questions

Does the warranty cover a Zen that stopped working after a firmware update?
A failed update that leaves the unit unresponsive after the official recovery steps is treated as a fault. The firmware errors page says that if re-running the update does not fix a 0.0.0 or DFU failure, the unit is faulty and to use the warranty.
I bought from GameStop or Amazon. Who do I contact?
The retailer first, within its return window. The official hard-reset page says third-party purchases may carry only a 30-day warranty. Collective Minds also offers a paid Extended Warranty Service for out-of-warranty units from any retailer.
Is the 30-day money-back really for any reason?
Per the cronus.shop refund policy as recorded in our research, yes, minus shipping and any White Glove or pre-loaded GamePack service fees. Return shipping is free in the USA for faulty items only.
What is White Glove?
A paid pre-shipment service in which Collective Minds updates, tests and configures the Zen before sending it, listed as a 13-point service. Buying it also extends the warranty to one year.
