Where to get official Cronus Zen help: guides, helpdesk, forums and Discord

A map of Collective Minds' official support channels for the Cronus Zen: the two documentation sites and what each covers, the helpdesk, the CronusMAX forums, the verified Cronus Community Discord, the changelog, and how to write a support request that gets answered.

Quick answer

Official Cronus Zen help lives in five places: the current documentation at guide.cronuszen.com, the Legacy-era guide at guide.cronus.support, the helpdesk at support.cronusmax.com for tickets and warranty, the CronusMAX forums, and the verified Cronus Community Discord linked from the official guide. Start with the guides, then the Discord for quick questions, and the helpdesk for hardware faults and returns.

Why is Cronus help spread across so many sites?

History. The product line grew from CronusMAX, which explains the cronusmax.com forums and helpdesk domain. The Legacy documentation was built on one platform at guide.cronus.support, and the current documentation, written around Zen Studio Live, lives at guide.cronuszen.com. Collective Minds' storefronts are cronus.shop and collectivemindsstore.com. All of these are official; none of them is the single home page you might expect.

This site is not one of them. cronus-zen.com is an independent knowledge base that explains the device and points to official sources. When something goes wrong with your hardware, you need the channels below.

The two documentation sites

guide.cronuszen.com (current)

The primary reference. It covers:

  • Quick Start and Downloads: Zen Studio Live, firmware update steps, controller compatibility.
  • Supported Devices: per-platform pages for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Windows PC, Android, Apple, racing wheels, mice and keyboards.
  • Zen LINK: what it is, setup, status light, troubleshooting, updating, model check.
  • Mouse and Keyboard: native versus emulation, connect and configure.
  • Zen Studio Legacy: panels, Device Monitor, plugins, operational modes.
  • GPC Script Guide: the full scripting documentation from Start Here through Reference.
  • Changelogs: yearly pages for firmware, Zen LINK, Zen Studio Live and Legacy.
  • Frequently Asked Questions: troubleshooting including the hard reset.

Every page has a Markdown version if you append .md to the URL, which is handy for searching.

guide.cronus.support (Legacy)

The older documentation. Still valuable for:

  • Detailed Zen Studio Legacy panel descriptions.
  • Error pages: firmware errors, Zen Studio errors, hardware errors (E3001, E3002).
  • Platform pages written for the desktop workflow, including the Zen LINK PS5 setup page.
  • Downloads: the Legacy installer, the Web Update Tool and Quick Start PDFs.
  • Requirements, reduce display lag, MODs vs Hacks and the older GPC guide.

When the two disagree, the current site wins. Our firmware history explains why some Legacy pages reference firmware 2.2.14.

The helpdesk

support.cronusmax.com is where tickets go. Use it for:

  • Hardware faults: blank OLED, failed hard reset, dead ports.
  • Warranty and returns. Collective Minds states 90 days on the base Zen, one year with certain bundles, and a 30-day money-back window for cronus.shop purchases; third-party retailers have their own policies.
  • Order and shipping questions.

Before opening a ticket, do the basics the official guides ask for: try a different data cable and port, attempt the hard reset, and note exactly what the OLED and any Zen LINK LED show. The Zen LINK status page specifically asks you to record colour, speed and blink count. Include the serial number from the Device tab.

The forums

cronusmax.com/forums is the long-running community board, which Collective Minds says has more than 745,000 members. It is the deepest archive of scripts, GamePack discussion and historical troubleshooting. Search before posting; most questions have been asked. Be aware that old threads describe old firmware and the pre-Zen LINK PS5 methods that no longer work.

The Discord

The official guide has a dedicated Discord page with a join button, and the server is listed in Discord's directory as the verified Cronus Community, created in April 2021 with around 150,000 members. It is the fastest place for a quick question and the first place release announcements appear. Etiquette that gets answers: state your platform, firmware version, Zen Studio version and what the OLED shows, in one message.

The changelog

Not a support channel, but the page to read before asking "is this a bug?". The yearly changelog on guide.cronuszen.com lists every firmware, Zen LINK, Zen Studio Live and Legacy release with its fixes. If your problem is listed as fixed in a newer version, update first.

What to include in any request

  1. Platform and console model.
  2. Firmware version (shown on the OLED at boot and in Zen Studio Live).
  3. Zen Studio version: Live version from the app, or Legacy build.
  4. Exact OLED text or error code, and Zen LINK LED behaviour if relevant.
  5. Cables and ports: which port on the Zen, which port on the console, hub or not.
  6. Controller model and whether wired or Bluetooth.
  7. What changed just before the problem started.

Half of support conversations are spent collecting this. Providing it up front shortens them dramatically.

What about unofficial sources?

Third-party sites, YouTube channels and paid script communities exist in large numbers. Some are helpful; many describe outdated methods or make version claims that do not match the official changelog. This site's editorial policy is to cite only official pages and reputable press, and to say so when something cannot be verified. For anything involving your warranty, only the official channels count.

Our resources page lists every official link in one place.
